The Kids Palace II Daycare & Preschool in West Orange, New Jersey, was honored to welcome Governor Phil Murphy on October 23, 2024, for a special visit highlighting New Jersey’s significant investments in early childhood education and childcare infrastructure.
During his visit, Governor Murphy announced an additional $17 million in funding for the New Jersey Economic Development Authority’s (NJEDA) Child Care Facilities Improvement Program, bringing the state’s total commitment to childcare infrastructure improvements to more than $140 million.
We were especially proud that The Kids Palace II was selected as the location for this important statewide announcement.
Investing in Our Center and Our Youngest Learners
Through the NJEDA Child Care Facilities Improvement Program, The Kids Palace II was awarded $189,300 to support essential facility improvements, including the installation of sprinkler and alarm systems.
These improvements were instrumental in allowing our center to expand its state licensing to serve infants, creating opportunities for more families in our community to access quality early childhood care and education.
For our center, this investment represented more than a facility upgrade. It was an important step toward expanding our services, strengthening our learning environment, and meeting the growing childcare needs of working families.
A Proud Moment for Our Community
Our Owner and Executive Director, Jorroys Reyes-Moton, was featured in the official NJEDA announcement, expressing appreciation for the funding and the opportunity to establish a dedicated infant and toddler space.
The Governor’s visit was a memorable milestone for The Kids Palace II and an opportunity to highlight the essential role childcare providers play in supporting children, families, and the local economy.
